I really was hoping to ride out these that he is wearing until it warmed up and he didn't need pants, but it is clear by seeing him today that this ain't happening. I am not sure what it is, in 6 months he has only grown 1 measly inch, but all his pants are getting to be too short on him. So off we will go this afternoon and I hope we find a sale.

Someone else in this house is about to need new pants as well. ME. I am still ok with wearing my regular ones, but I am sure the morning will come when all of the sudden nothing will button and I will be in trouble. So, while we are at the mall I might look at pants for me, as well.

Truman needs no pants. We have pants in all sizes from small to Walker so he should be covered.

I just thought ya'll would like to have me update my blog and right now pants is all I could come up with.

I know, I am posting a blog. I really have been meaning to, but I just didn't feel in the right mood. Could be because I am pregnant and cranky or it could be because I am just lazy. Either one is true.

The boys are doing good. Walker is getting to be so grown up. He has been telling me today that I am his friend. It is so cute. Truman is crazy. He is into everything and saying almost as much.

We got our Christmas Trees today. They had reindeer there and the boys loved seeing them. They also had a baby goat named, Leroy, whom Walker just adored. The kid needs a kid...hahaha.

I promise a big update soon. Here are a few pictures, though.

Boy, it sure has been a busy day. It is closing in on 11 pm and I am just now starting to relax from it. Walker had a Jamboree at school today, they had a pumpkin patch, carnival games, crafts, candy, and a picnic lunch. I signed Carter and myself up to work. I was in charge of the craft room (they made fall picture frames) and Carter help the kids from station to station doing fun things and playing. We all at lunch together. I forgot my camera. I couldn't even believe it.

After school Truman fell asleep on the way home. He ended up taking a much needed Halloween 3 hour nap. WooHoo. I forced Walker to nap as well and he obliged. I think the morning was enough for him and he was dozing an hour after we got home. After he woke up, we got their costumes ready, carved a pumpkin, and got Truman up. They got dressed and we went outside and took pictures. For 2 excited boys they did good with the pictures. I am happy with what I got...for the first time in 3 years.

We went to Mema's house first. They had a great time shooting their new gun that they had gotten early this morning and Mema got them some really cool trick or treat bags.

Next up we stopped by Gigi's. She was dressed up with a clown wig. They boys got some candy and we were off to Mimi and Pappy's house.

We ate dinner over there and then Mimi helped me take the boys out since Carter had to work tonight. I was very impressed with how much they loved trick-or-treating. They had such a good time. Walker knew he was supposed to ring the doorbell and would announce, "frick or freet". Truman surprised me with saying "thank you" or something close to it a number or times. We ended up going house to house for almost 2 hours.

I am going to try and retell this as verbatum as possible. I am glad I wasn't eating because I think I would have choked. We were leaving Shoe Carnival and all the sudden from the backseat Walker started up...

1. I was nervous, almost sick to my stomach nervous to be dropped off at school everyday until I was driving myself. I wasn't however nervous, if I drove myself, or if I rode my bicycle (in elementary school).

Halloween Party Fun

We went to Aunt B and Uncle Jeff's house tonight for a fun family and it seems annual Halloween party. We all had to dress up. It was so much fun. I was a cowgirl, Carter was Superman, Walker was Batman and Truman was Robin. They boys had a great time. They got some Halloween prizes and had so much fun running all around.

Walker and Papa had a great time riding stick horses and shooting each other with my cowgirl guns.

I am so bad. I haven't really updated here in a while and I have had lots to post, but I just can't seem to get it together. I have forgotten now to update any books or calendars with cute info about my boys, and this blog was supposed to replace that and I can't seem to manage to get the cute stories that happen on a daily basis typed here. I am going to be more conscientious about that in the future...I think. I have several busy weeks coming up with atleast 3 photo shoots booked this month already. Yay for fall weather. We also have to make atleast on trip to the pumpkin patch as well.

Last Friday, we went to Mountain Fork Farm. It was awesome. I have had a problem with uploading the pictures to photobucket, so I will have to post them later, but needless to say the boys had one of the best times of their lives. They got to see cows, horses, turkeys, chicks, pigs, chickens...and collect their eggs in the hen house. They chased a calf, ran a muck, road in a mule and just got to be boys.

I can't believe how grown up they are getting. Truman still follows me around saying "mama" constantly, but now he calls all women mama and all males 'dada', even Walker. I find it strange, though, that he can identify Diego and Dora and call them both by name, and he only saw Dora for the first time 2 days ago. He loves to say "duck, quack, quack" and talk to the dogs. He is getting to be so independent and hates to hold my hand. He wants to do everything his big brother does. He seems to be an all day grazer. This child can put away some food. He weighs almost 25 lbs and is getting to be so tall. I hate that he is not going to be able to wear some of Walker's cute outfits that he wore at this age. He likes to close doors, but has no idea how to open them. He shuts himself in his room multiple times a day. He is about to cut teeth #s 15 and 16. The other day he went back to play in the back of the house while we were in the den. He came running out so fast and said repeatedly, "uh oh" I followed him back to Walker's room. He had turn his fan on and it was load and didn't know how to turn it off. He is also our little prayer. As soon as my bottom hits the chair at the table, he puts his hands together and says, "God", that is my cue to start the prayer and he is always quite pleased with himself while he eats and we say the blessing. He is constantly bringing me books to read to him, too.
Last weekend we went to Birmingham to the Botanical Gardens. Here are a few pictures.

Walker amuses us everyday, he can also be quite exasperating. He is obsessed with going to toy stores and getting toys. He is fine with not getting one and never pitches a fit, but if you ask him where he wants to go, he almost always answers the toy store. He has become very polite to us lately. He is sick this week and yesterday I asked him if he wanted his medicine and he said, "No Thanks". When he saw it was Tylenol, he willing took it. Last week we went to see my aunt at the office. Walker was talking about needing a toy and I told him we weren't going to the toy store. Well, Big B got in the money drawer and gave them each 2 dollars to go to the dollar store. Well, we got back in the car and I didn't really want to drive back across town, I suggested we go down the street to the library and that we could go to the dollar store in the morning. Walker's response was to tell me that we "have plenty of books at home, mom". Well, he told me. Off to the dollar store we went and he got a new sword and bow and arrow set. We headed back across town to go to church and I told him that he couldn't bring his toys in. He told me to drive slower...so he could have longer to play before we got there. He is a tricky little dude.

Praying for Susannah

Susannah is a precious little almost three year old girl just adopted from China. She got home Tuesday and was admitted to the hospital 12 hours later. She has a bad heart condition and will be undergoing a heart cath tomorrow to see if it is too late to do surgery or not. Please pray for her, that the cath goes well and that it is not too late to help her. Check out her story.

Birthday week recap...

I promised, so here they are, pictures from all the festivities that have been held in Walker's honor this past week. I am worn out, our house can't hold all the new toys. It has been quite a week. So, without further ado, cause I know you are all on pins and needles...

We started the celebration on Saturday the 6th. Aunt Erynn and Kaisey picked Walker up and took him to Build a Bear. Walker had a fun time and came home with a Koala dressed like Batman. I forgot to upload a picture of "Koala Lou" or "Frosty the Snowman" as Walker calls him (and all his other stuffed animals) so just pretend that you see a picture of him. We went to Carter's mom's house after Truman got up from his nap. She was smoking ribs on her "Big Green Egg." Actually, she was charring ribs, but they still tasted great and she is just now getting the hang of it so I will cut her a little slack. She usually makes awesome ribs. If you don't already know, Walker shares a birthday with his cousin, Leeza. They were born 3 hours apart. So, it was a party for both of them. Walker got some neat presents and had a great time with his cake...with pink strawberry icing (just as he requested).

I sent cupcakes to school for his class on Monday. He wanted strawberry icing again so I put lots of red sprinkles on top because Carter didn't really like the idea of a 3 year old boy and pink icing at preschool. Monday night we went to a birthday party for Leeza at Chuck-E Cheese. Both boys had a great time. I didn't bring my camera, so there are no pictures of Walker with icing all over his face and arms...how sad.
Tuesday, Carter and I took Walker to the Space and Rocket Center b/c all summer he has been asking to go see the rocket ships. He had a great time.

That evening, we went to my parent's house because his present had gotten there...a 2 seater ride on toy...he thinks it is a Gator, but the Gator got some bad reviews so we opted for the Power Wheels one.

Poor Truman's head jerked back each time Walker hit the gas. He drives it pretty good. We have been logging much backyard time since this present.

Saturday morning Walker had his "kid" party. We had it at the Christian Life Center of a church and it was so much fun. There was a giant gym with a moonbounce, hula hoops, balls, slides and 30 balloons. There were about 20 kids there and plenty of parents. We had pizza and cake and opened presents. The theme was Batman.

We went to the lake on Sunday to say farewell to the summer...even though it will surely be in the 90s for 2 more months. The boys had a great time. Truman added 4 more words to his repertoire with duck, boat, stuck and cracker. He got in the water with his Mimi and took a jet ski ride with Daddy. Walker spent much of the day fishing and he also swam around, went for a jet ski ride and a long boat ride. Truman was so tired he fell asleep when we put him in the car and Walker got about halfway home before he drifted off. Here are a few pictures.

Truman's First Day of School

I am a bad mom. Truman started school on Tuesday and here it is Friday and I haven't posted his first day of school picture. Truman started MMO in January and loved it. He went one day a week. So on Tuesday he started and is going 3 days a week. He loves it after I leave. He doesn't want me to go, though. His teachers are Ms. Vanessa (who Walker had) and Ms. Grace. He is the only one walking in his class of 6.

Walker started preschool today. He loved it. He has been going to Mother's Morning Out since he was 5 months old, but today he went to preschool. He is going 3 days a week, just like the last 2 years. He loves his teacher, Miss Valerie. He did art work and pottied by himself. Eye Virus, Walking, Beth Moore and more...

Boy, the past week seems to have just flown by. I really can't believe that Truman is ONE already. He is walking everywhere and getting faster and faster and more sure of himself everyday. He is starting to feed himself with a spoon and says so many words. His favorite being "out". I hear it all day long. He wants to go outside. It is his favorite place to be. That is not so much my favorite place these days, though, with temps in the 100s.

This past week, I have had a nasty virus in my eye. Let me tell you, I would have rather had another child...no meds.

This weekend some friends and I went to the Beth Moore Living Proof Live Simulcast. It was a blast and so much fun to share this experience with 70,000 other women...and a few men from 4 different countries and every state but New Hampshire.

Saturday night, out group of friends came over for a cookout. An hour before we had a huge hail storm (the biggest I have seen) and so we did a quick vacuum of the house since we would all be inside instead of out. We had a great time and Audrey made the most awesome coconut cake. I can't wait to make it myself.

We went to feed the ducks yesterday and to let the boys play in the fountain. They had a great time and we all got to take naps yesterday afternoon.

Truman has been able to take steps since 2 days before he was 10 months old. He has very slowly decided to take some independent, non coached, steps for about a month now. On Saturday, at Mema's house he seemed like he might take off but only did for short distances. Last night, at my grandparent's house, he started walking all over the place. He still can't stand himself up on his own, he has to pull up, but he was everywhere. I wonder what today holds. I can't believe he is going to be ONE on Sunday.

We went to Fairhope on Friday night to eat at Wintzell's. After dinner we went to the pier.

Truman is crazy

Truman was tired due to lack of sleep today (he has a very naughty brother) and so I put him to bed a little early. He was so ready to go...until I put him in the bed. 45 minutes later he was still screaming. I took him out of bed and sat in the chair with him. We rocked and he kept repeating "Doh Oph" over and over. I finally realized he was saying "door open". I asked him where the door was and he pointed to it. We went over and opened the door and stood in the threshold. Truman pointed. "Oww" he said. So out we went. His Mimi was standing in the kitchen because she had brought us some tasty cobbler for dessert. Truman was happy. We decided to let him play for a while as he was thoroughly awake and he crawled up to me, pointed at the outside door and said, "doh oww". I told him no and we soon went to bed. I can't believe how verbal he is at this age. It really amazes me. Here is a pic of the little stinker playing while he should have been sleeping.

I have spent most of the last week chasing two silly boys. They are both growing so fast and doing so many new things. Truman added the word, "wow", to his growing vocabulary. Walker has been working on jumping on one foot. He is getting pretty good at it, too.

This past weekend we were able to go to a few of niece Kaisey's all star softball games. It was fun to watch her pitch. The boys had a great time having spray candy, suckers, sno-cones and other things.

We also went swimming at the pool last week with Big B and Uncle Jeff. Gasi came as well and we at pizza and Walker is doing great in the pool. He wears a float suit and goes off the diving board and down the slide all by himself. He is so big. Truman had a great time at the pool as well.

I haven't uploaded any pics this week to the photo sharing site so I will have to post those later. Hope you all have a great 4th if I don't post before.

Sorry I haven't updated in so long. I have all these great posts in my head, they just don't want to come out. Truman has been sick this week with a nasty cold. I thought Walker was getting it, too, but he avoided it. Walker has started swim lessons this week. He doesn't like it that much, but I am sure that he will perk up sooner or later. We have 3 more weeks of them (and they are free) so we skipped today and stayed home. It was a good thing b/c Truman slept right through it. Maybe next week I will take some pictures of him learning to swim and some of Truman in the water.

It has been really hot here the last few weeks but I really can't complain b/c the weather has been sunny and I am glad that we are not having the really bad weather that the midwest has been dealing with.

1. I hate brushing my teeth. I really really hate it. I do it, but it doesn't mean I have to like it.

2. My second toes are both longer than my big toes. I think it is a sign of genius.

3. I was the 4th Generation in my family to graduate from MY high school. My great grandparents were in the first graduating class. Each generation has also married someone from that school as well. We still live in district so Walker and Truman might just do the same thing.

4. I really love cheeseburgers. I just don't like homemade ones (like not from a restaurant)

5. Going back to number 4, I must have cheese on my burger. I don't like plain. Oh, and I only like ketchup, too.

6. I must be hungry. I don't like veggies on my pizza, only meat.

7. I hate putting away laundry. This is why Carter just carted several weeks worth upstairs to our room. He really wants me to put it away so the folding table can get the new clean clothes folded.

How we spent our Memorial Day weekend

First off, in the last post I mentioned that Truman likes to draw. Well, I didn't think about his drawing tool...I really shouldn't give him markers just yet...

On Saturday morning, Walker and I attended a birthday party for a little boy from his class. We went to one of those indoor inflatable play places. He had an absolute blast. They are open certain hours during the week so we will have to go back one day. The hour and a half of jumping wore him out and he crashed hard and took a nap. That evening we went to my cousin's wedding party reception thingy here in town since they were married in Jamaica in Feb. Walker had a great time b/c they had a trampoline, Carter and I had a great time since they were boiling some tasty crab legs.

Sunday we were up bright and early to go to the lake. Walker has been talking for months about going fishing and this was our first chance to take him. He had a blast. He caught several fish.

My dad also put a fish down his life jacket. The pictures of those are on my dad's camera and will have to wait.
He enjoyed jet skiing with his daddy and really liked going fast.

Truman had a good time, too. We brought an inflatable boat and he hung out in that with some water in it on the dock.

The boys were exhausted by the time we left last night and Truman fell asleep on the way home. Walker, however, did not, and talked the entire 45 minute drive.

Today we decided to take it easy. We set up an inflatable pool and raft in the yard and made a water slide. The boys had a great time and I got to hang out and watch them. I even got to read an entire book!!!

That was tough work. Walker fell asleep outside and took a nice nap on a towel.

For lunch we went to Dreamland to have some ribs. Truman really liked them and we thought we might not get it away from him.

I don't have a picture of him actually doing it, but I am so excited that Truman can use a straw. I was just thinking last night (while we were out to dinner) that I really wish he would figure it out. Well, we were out again tonight and he was having a fit (he is getting good at them) because Walker had a drink that wasn't in a sippy cup. I tried to give him his sippy and he kept pushing it away. Carter gave him some of his drink and he sucked it through the straw. I was so proud. He ended up with Walker's drink (some Powerade) and Walker got a new one, but everyone ended up happy.
As for the fits, well we are going to work on those. He is really getting close to full blown tantrums and he isn't even 10 months old yet. What am I in for?

In other news, he really seems to like to draw. He says "draw" and then does it. I am amazed. OH, and have I mentioned that the other monster living in our house (Walker) is potty trained? Well, he is!!!! Yippee for me, although it is more work when you are out, he peed in the parking lot of the mall and in the street while we were on our walk tonight. Oh well, what do you do?

Two weeks ago we had our family picture made for the church directory. I was really looking forward to it because when we had our last picture made I was pregnant with Walker. We arrived 10 minutes early and then had to wait 45 minutes past our appointment time due to a backup b/c too many families were having pictures taken at that time as well. The boys were not happy when it was finally our turn. There were several people waiting after us so we told the photographer that we just wanted a family picture, that we didn't need him to take 100 shots of each kid in all different kind of poses (We have way too many pictures as it is). He posed us and started making silly faces (fine with me, I did want the boys smiling in the picture). He took 5 pictures. I figured he must have gotten a good one if he took that few. We went into view them. The following is the best one of the group. We got it free for just showing up. I am really just not sure what to do with it. If anyone wants it, let me know. My boys look so happy to be there. You can clearly see how funny they thought the photographer was being. Haha

The other night...Thursday, after all the tornadoes had finished threatening, we took a walk after dinner to go to get some ice cream. On the way there I saw a cat sitting up against a garage door. I pointed him out to Walker and he stopped and looked at it. The cat, who must be stark raving mad, looked at Walker and proceeded to cross the street and come to see him. Walker was very nice, as was the kitty and here are pictures from that encounter.

We went to get our ice cream and had a grand old time. It was a really nice walk.

Oh yes, after the storms passed, I went to work and Carter let Walker go and play in the rain.

That night for dinner we had corn on the cob.

Big B and Jeff got the boys some new outfits. Here are the helicopter ones. They are super cute and Walker really loves them.

Last night we went to Will's 3rd birthday party. The boys had lots of fun. Walker didn't stop the entire time we were there.

For the past week or so he hasn't been eating very well. I got very frustrated this morning b/c he wouldn't eat his breakfast for me. I threw some Cheerios on his tray and he happily at those. I figured that maybe he just wanted to feed himself. I set his bowl on his tray (full of oatmeal and baby fruit), he picked up the spoon and put some in his mouth so I told Carter to watch him so he wouldn't dump the food everywhere. When I came back, Truman had eaten almost the entire breakfast...he held a spoon and Carter fed him with another. I was still worried b/c he had really not had much to eat this week and he has been crawling everywhere and I didn't want him to loose too much weight. We gave him a bath and I weighed him...he had gained several ounces and so I measured him as well. That little non eating stinker has grown 1/2 and inch in less than 2 weeks. I guess I had nothing to worry about.

On Friday, Pappy went to the Home Depot and purchased Walker and Truman a swingset kit. I worked with him for several hours on Friday afternoon to get the frame work started. On Saturday morning, Uncle Ricky and Pappy worked on it while we got our church directory pictures made. Carter helped work on it after that and by mid afternoon, it was done. Walker had a blast playing on it (although he won't let me take his picture) and Truman loves swinging. Here are some pics from yesterday.

This morning we were ready for church a whole 45 minutes early (It must be a Forgey record) and so I tried to take pictures of the boys they didn't really cooperate, but here is what I ended up with.

Our sweet pediatrician's 7 month old son, Isaac, is in surgery right now to correct a heart defect. The surgery is very tricky. Pray his surgeon is able to fix the problem called Double Outlet Right Ventricle...his Aorta is on the wrong side.

Well, first things first. Truman turned 9 months old on Sunday. I can't believe he is already 9 months. That is so crazy. Today, Carter brought him to visit me at the office while I was working and he crawled two steps. This was the first. He has been crawling a few little steps at a time all afternoon, now. I am not ready for another kid in motion.

We had a long weekend. After school last Thursday, Walker threw up and so we didn't get to go to one of Daddy's games. He was in a bad mood after that. Friday, Mom, Truman and I went looking at short term rehab facilities for Gigi. It took us all day and Truman was a trooper. We found one and she has been accepted. She will most likely be moved there on Wednesday (tomorrow). She is doing much better but tonight she fell in the bathroom b/c the nurse just left her in there.

Saturday, I woke up with a nauseous tummy. I couldn't keep anything down all day long and Carter was the best husband ever and took care of the boys all day long while I wallowed away on the couch and in the bed. I recovered, and on Sunday we were ready to take it easy, just running a few errands.

Yesterday, Carter had an upset stomach, but was ok for the most part. We capped off the day with some yummy burgers from 5 Guys.

Walker has been climbing trees lately. He is quick and can scurry up just like a monkey. Truman really is blossoming. He waves, gives me five, and shakes his head no at me all the time. Here are some pictures from the past week.

Wednesday Wackyness

I am so glad that Spring is finally here. We have had a really nice past week with the weather being so beautiful. We have been spending so much time outside.

Walker is doing pretty good with his potty training. If we could get him to just stop what he is doing sometimes we would really be in business.

Truman is developing quite a personality. He is getting so grown up. He finally takes his bottles and eats almost everything in sight. He loves Mexican food and pancakes. Anything we are eating, he wants. He is still not crawling, but he can cruise around his fun wall and stands at it for long periods of time. We are trying to teach him to clap, but he won't, he just wants to clap our hands together and today the teachers at Mother's Morning Out said he waves. I can't believe how big he is getting.

I have been trying to teach Walker some of his letters. He is really good with W because of his name. Today when we saw it, he called it a DoubleME!! Haha. I thought that was so cute.

In other news, I joined the church softball league. I have been really sore since my first game on Sunday. I had a lot of fun, though.

We decided to go for a walk yesterday. It was really warm, and the boys had a great time. Please excuse Walker. He doesn't like to have his picture taken anymore.

Don't worry, I asked if I could post the picture. According to the surgeon, the damage was worse than expected. She will have a colostomy bag for a few months and then have to have that reversed. She is uncomfortable, but ready to get up and moving. She is in ICU few a little while today, but will soon be moved to a regular room. Thank you all for your prayers.

Gigi, aka, Grandmommy, my 82 year old (I know she will be happy that I am telling her age online) is having surgery tomorrow afternoon to remove a foot and a half of her colon. She also has an abdominal abscess that is going to be removed as well. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers over the next week or so, especially tomorrow.

Walker (2 1/2)

2. Potty training (he didn't have any accidents today)!!!

What I have been up to.

I have been meaning to post all week, but life kept getting in the way. It really is not excuse, but I have felt really busy the last several days.

Carter and I had a talk last Wednesday night after I called him and told him that I was going to sell Walker and that he better come home. Walker had an eventful Wednesday while we were at the doctor's office checking to see if his ears were getting any better (they did) and he did things like climb into the sink with the water running and his shoes off while I was trying to change his screamy squirmy brother. Big B kept him Wednesday afternoon while I was at work and he did things like hitting the dog and his brother and just being generally disobedient and so that night, after trying unsuccessfully to sell him to some old people Carter and I decided that things had to change for him. We are trying to give him more attention and it seems to be working and I haven't had to even attempt to sell him for 5 days now.

Truman turned 8 months old on Thursday. I can't believe my little baby is that old. He has really changed in the last few weeks. He looks older. He has 4 teeth now. He is almost 22 lbs and 30 inches. He is above the 97th %ile in length. What can I say, we small people have big babies. He isn't crawling yet, but he is rolling over from his front to his back. He refuses the other way still even though he can do it.

Walker got sick on Sunday. He had awful post nasal drip and it caused him to throw up twice. We were prepared, though and it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Truman's nose it running now and he is a bit whiny. I hope he doesn't get too sick.

We had big news here today. Walker got all the way dressed all by himself. He put on underwear (backwards) , jeans, a polo shirt and his crocs all by his little lonesome. I was so impressed. Then, in even bigger news...HE POOPED ON THE POTTY!!! He did it at school and he even told his teacher he had to go. He really wants a pitching machine and we told him if he gets all the way potty trained that we would get him one. He is really excited and I have played up the fact that he is a big boy all day.

In April Fool's News, my husband is a big IDIOT and mean spirited moron. He had to run out this morning before I took Walker to school. He took Truman with him. He called me as I was dropping Walker off in his classroom and told me that he had been in a wreck. I asked if everything was okay and he said the Car looked pretty bad. I had to call him back as Walker was having a hard time with me leaving. I told his teachers what happened and left screaming Walker to go and talk to Carter. When I got back in touch with him I asked him what happened. He said nothing and April Fools. Well you can imagine how happy I was that it wasn't true and how mad at my dear husband I was. I told him so and hung up. I made it to my car and cried. I called him back and let him have it and told him how that wasn't even remotely funny and that he should be ashamed.

I hope you all have had a good week and I hope you all have nice husbands who don't play mean cruel tricks on you like mine did.

We had a great Easter weekend. We spent all day Saturday at Carter's mom's house. We dyed eggs and hung out for lunch and dinner. That morning was the church egg hunt and Walker found 21 eggs. He had a great time and got his face painted like a bunny. Truman just loved being outside and didn't even seem to miss his morning nap.

Sunday we got up and saw that the bunny had been here. Walker and Truman got their prizes and Walker hunted eggs all over the den. We went to church and then to Grammy and Papa's for Easter lunch. We had a great egg hunt out there and spent nice time with the family.

Oh the fun we had down at the gulf this past week. It went better than I even expected. A great time was had by everyone. If you don't want to read this really long post, the pictures are at the bottom.

We left on Friday at lunchtime (only had to stop once) and got there in time to eat dinner at Lambert's (the home of the Throwed Rolls). Walker had a great time there and even ate some frog legs. We got to the condo at 8:30ish and unpacked and got the boys to bed. Carter and I waited up til after midnight to greet the Caneer Family. We all stayed up talking until 1:30 and we just had to get to bed.

Saturday we started out slow, but got down to the beach eventually. The boys loved the beach and Walker ran all over the place in and out of the waves and jumping into giant sand holes. Truman had a handful of sand and after that he just left it alone and took in everything. After we got hungry, we went upstairs and fed the boys lunch. Vicki and I left and went to eat lunch out and go shopping at the outlets. It was nice to have an afternoon away. I got some great bargains....as did Vicki, and we headed back home later than we expected.

Saturday night was spent at a restaurant called the Crab Trap. This is a great restaurant because it has a playground for the kids to play on while you wait. I had some tasty crab and Carter got shrimp. Walker ate alot.

Sunday we headed down to the sand and played and this time it was the boy's turn to leave for lunch. They didn't go to the outlets afterward, but they did go back down to the sand by themselves to have some beer and be by themselves. Neither silly boy brought a cell phone down with them so I had to scream at them to get their attention so they could come upstairs and get ready to do late day pictures on the beach.

The pictures went pretty well and we headed upstairs to decide on dinner. We settled for hotdogs on the grill and turned in early for the night.

Monday we went to the "Little Zoo that Could". The pictures from that haven't been uploaded yet. Walker loved feeding the Llama and goats and seeing the bunny rabbits and the Tiger. Truman loved the goats and screamed at them when they would walk away from him. Charles and Will liked it, too. After the zoo we ate lunch at the Mellow Mushroom. It was yummy. Vicki and I took Walker and Charles to the outlets after lunch to finish up what we had started on Saturday and Carter and Matt took Will and Truman back to the condo to nap. After we finished shopping we all went to dinner at Fish Camp. I was really disappointed in the meal. after dinner everyone but Truman and me went crab hunting on the beach. They didn't see one crab.

Tuesday we went to Pensacola to the National Naval Aviation Museum. Walker, Charles and Will loved looking at all the airplanes and helicopters. The Caneers left the museum early and headed home for naps and we stayed a while longer and went to lunch and souvenir shopping with the boys. We split up for dinner that night as well and our family had a wonderful dinner at Wolfbay Lodge. We got home and started cleaning up and getting ready to pack up the next morning.

Wednesday we traveled home. It was a really long trip. I was so happy to get to sleep in my bed last night. Walker was so worn out from the week that he slept til after 9:30 today. I don't remember the last time that happened.

BLIZZARD 2008 and other things

We had a really big blizzard here today. It snowed almost a 1/2 inch (OMG)!!! Walker was so excited. He got up and got his snow clothes on. He ate the snow, crawled in the snow and made a snowman. We got cold and came in and went to a pancake breakfast and Walker and Truman both flirted with the soccer player girls.

We took Truman to the doctor last night because he has had goopy eyes all week. He has an ear infection and Walker's ear infection is better in his left ear but his right is still pretty bad. Neither boy is too bothered by them so that is good.

I am also going to post some pictures of baby Asher. He is doing great and has started to gain weight again.

Wednesday...Full of Words

First, thank you everyone who sent birthday greetings. They meant alot. Second, shame on all of you who did not step up and let me know who you are. Good for you the ones who did.

Baby Asher is continuing to do well. Shannon got out of the hospital Monday night and has been resting at home.

We took a picnic lunch to the park on Sunday as it was in the 70s and so beautiful outside. Mema and Alyson got back from Belize and met us there. Walker had a blast walking Mema's dog, Lulu, and Truman just loves being outside. Pictures from the day will follow.

Yesterday I was really tired. I decided that I needed to go to bed early and was resting on the couch. My mom called at 7:30 to make sure I knew that she not only has ONE blog, but she has TWO and had I checked them out yet. I told her that I was resting and I would check them out soon. At that point, Truman started screaming. It took over an hour, but I finally got him back to sleep. I came downstairs checked out her blogs and was headed to bed when I heard Walker crying. As I headed down the hall I recognized the cry...the "I just threw up cry". Yes he had. I got Carter and I took Walker to the tub and he cleaned up the mess in the bedroom. All was finally well at 11 pm and I went to bed. I was amazed that both boys slept all night long and I didn't have to get up until 6:00 am.

Oh, my sister now has a blog as well. They are such copycats. Check her blog out, too.

Happy Birthday To ME!!!! and an Asher update

I had an early day today. 5:20 is not when I choose to wake up any day, let alone my birthday. Oh well. My wonderful husband did surprise me last night with some Peanut Butter pie from Gibson's. My, was it yummy. This morning, however, I was wishing that I had saved last night's pie for this morning's breakfast. Well, wonderful husband had another surprise...another piece of pie. Slap my momma, it was good. I love that stuff.

Walker was very nice and opened my presents for me this morning. The boys gave me a back massager and Carter gave me a digital keychain picture frame. I am excited.

I went to a Jewelry show this morning and then out to lunch with the girls...and children so it wasn't so relaxing, but it was fun. Then, just when I couldn't have any more fun, my mom and I took the boys shopping. I got a new pair of shorts, a shirt and a dress for Easter. We had lots of fun looking at all the stuff in Anthropologie

Tonight, Alyson is coming over and Carter and I are going out for a late dinner. I am looking forward to it even though I am do tired from my long and busy day.

UPDATE ON ASHER: He is off the CPAP and on room air ( I think, but maybe he has a nasal canula), the doctors have checked him out and say he has no signs of anything wrong with him except for restricted growth so once he gets eating and growing he should be fine. They expect him to come home in about 6 weeks or so. PRAISE THE LORD, HE IS GOOD.

Asher was born at 4:34 this afternoon. He was 2 lbs8.8 oz and 14 inches. He is in the NICU and is doing good for now. We will get more info tomorrow.

Our good friends are in the operating room this minute delivering their second child. There have been some complications and he is coming at 31 weeks. There was some concern earlier that he had a lethal form of skeletal dysplasia but now they say he has just had restricted growth. Please pray that is all it is. Marco and Shannon are the parents. Please lift them up in prayer. I will update here after I know something. Thank you all so much.

Amy is a great mommy to 3 little boys. She went to the hospital with a Kidney Stone and there have been bad complications. She has a really bad infection and the other day she had strokes in BOTH of her eyes. Please pray for her and her family.

Manic Mondays

I was woken up this morning at 1 am by a dog who was very upset. Carter got up with her and both dogs were very anxious. They are not like this at all. We let them out and they ran all around the yard barking and pacing. We got them back in the house and poor Nora just couldn't settle. She was really nervous and Carter finally got her to calm down and we got back to bed around 2.

Walker got up at 6:30 and climbed into bed with us. He said he wanted milk and some "honey bears". I got up with him and Truman right after 7 and got Walker some cereal and Truman some milk. Walker wasn't acting right all morning and after his bath he felt awfully warm. I took his temp and it was just over 99. He kept acting strange, though. By 10:30 he had a full blown fever. He was miserable. After some Motrin he felt better but he never did take a nap.

We had a lazy afternoon and while I was feeding Truman around 5 my mom came over with some dinner for us....yummy chicken noodle soup and cornbread (thanks mom). I took Walker's temp and it was 103.1. I texted Carter and he called immediately. He came home early and helped with Walker. They played after he had some more Motrin and by 8 it was bedtime and he went down without a problem.

He isn't going to get to go to school tomorrow. Carter will be a good Daddy and watch both boys while I work.

We have had a pretty good week here. On Wednesday, it snowed, ok, well, it flurried in the morning. Walker was so excited when I told him it was snowing. He said, "I go outside and catch it in my mouth?" I sent him out and Carter took some pictures of him before I took him to school. You know here in Alabama they close everything down for a small amount of snow so this is how little it actually was since nothing was closed.

We had a nice Valentine's Day. Walker got some candy at school and daddy took some pictures of Truman.

My grandparent's gave Walker $10 for Valentine's Day. He was so excited. I asked him what he was going to buy with it and he said an alligator. We took him out yesterday and he got one. He is so proud. He has named it "Crocodile" and it slept in the bed with him last night. He even walked it in the mall and last night I had to make it a leash.

Today was nice and we took the boys to the park to feed the ducks. Walker had a blast.

Truman just hung out in the stroller.

Walker wanted to stop off at the fire station to see the trucks. They put him up front and they also turned the lights on for him.

WHY????

Walker uttered this word for the first time this week. I can't believe it hasn't happened before this, but I guess I am happy that I got to be free for this long. He really likes to ask this question now. I have remained strong, but I know it is only a matter of time before the words, "because I said so, that's why" are uttered from my mouth.

In other news, we have been sick. By we, I mean Walker and myself. I woke up Thursday morning with a sore throat, and fought all morning to convince myself that I wasn't getting sick. By lunch, I was fading fast and dragging. Walker had been complaining all week that his eye was hurting. It didn't look like pink eye and Carter said it was probably because he had been rubbing them. I drug around all day and Walker refused to take a nap. By 7 Thursday night both boys were sleeping and I was the walking dead. Walker proceeded to get up in the middle of the night and refuse to go to sleep for 2 hours. Luckily, my wonderful husband knew that I was not feeling great and was up with him. We finally got back to sleep and Truman got up at 3:3o because he thought it would be fun to join in the party. I got him back down and got to sleep until 6:30 when Walker came back into our room. Bless Carter, he took him away and I got to sleep until almost 9.

Friday was tiring for me, but I was feeling ok. Walker seemed to be fine, but his eyes still looked red and pink. He had a really swollen lymph node on his neck and Aunt Erynn suspected he might be getting sick. Sure enough, right after lunch he started running a fever. He took a nap and I played with Truman (who decided that playing with mommy was much more fun than napping) and while we played I accidentally let him fall on his face. He got a bloody nose and as I was talking to Carter about what I should do about it (nothing), Walker got up and was even more feverish that before. We called the doctor and the nurse said we should bring him in on Sat. morning as our doctor was leaving early to take his daughter to a dance.

Walker seemed better by bedtime on Friday and woke up happy Saturday morning. He didn't have a fever and was running around. Carter said we should keep his appointment anyway to check his eyes and make sure he was good. Well, Aunt Erynn was right, he has an ear infection. Apparently his eyes hurt and not his ears (the doctor said this can happen). He ran another fever Saturday afternoon, but we gave him motrin and went on to some friend's house. A wonderful time was had by all.

Carter played in a soccer tournament this weekend and they won their division (over 30) and I am still nursing my nasty cold. Tonight we went to a Chinese New Year party and I ate my body weight in scallops, crab legs and shrimp. My dad watched the boys...I mean slept in the floor and we had a great time. Friday afternoon, our friend Vicki called and asked us if we wanted to go to the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga with them and some other friends. I called Carter and he said, "Yeah, I guess." and so we did. We left here a little after 8 on Saturday morning and went to the aquarium.

We all got there within about 10 minutes of each other and met up.

We all went to eat at the Mellow Mushroom after the first half. It was a long wait with 5 kids, but the food is so good. Truman fell asleep in Carter's lap just as the food was coming. Here he is before, waiting like a good boy.

After lunch the others were tired and went back home. We went on to the next exhibits. Walker actually got to pet some stingrays. He thought that was great.

We also saw some sharks. Look at those teeth. Walker said they were his "favwit"

They have a new penguin exhibit. It was really neat.

Walker was asleep before we got back to the interstate and slept the whole way home. We stopped at Carter's friend, Tracie's house on the way into town. Walker got to meet her dogs, Bailey and Moses. He wanted to take Moses home with us and talked about him the whole way back. Truman was a great boy the whole trip. I was impressed with how good they were.

The boys were dirty when we got home so into the bath they went. Truman loves taking a bath with his big brother.

Walker was digging salad the other night.

In other news, Truman had his impromptu 6 month appointment yesterday. We were supposed to go in a week, but since we were there for a follow up on the hideous snot sickness we rolled 4 shots and an oral vaccine in there as well. He is doing great. I asked the doctor about his flat head and he said, "yeah, it's flat, it'll get better." I asked him about his flat out refusal to roll over most of the time. He said that since he can sit up and is going after toys that it is fine.

Truman is really big, too. He is 28.5 inches (96th%) and 20 lbs 12.5 oz (90th%). They didn't measure his head this time because I think they forgot. They weren't going to weigh him until I made them. Since he had been there Monday and they aren't concerned about his size I guess he is fine.

We are going to go to the Aquarium tomorrow with all of our friends so I am sure I will have plenty of pictures to post about the fun times that will be had.

I took some pictures of Truman this afternoon. He was quite cooperative. His fever is down for now and he seems to be feeling better. The doc gave us antibiotics as he had elevated white counts and a cough medicine (he didn't and still doesn't have a cough) and his snot has stopped. He also doesn't have pneumonia which was a concern this morning as well. So here are some pictures.

Finally. Truman is almost 6 months old and he just started rolling last night. He still has to be prompted by tapping his leg, but it is all him. He is so big I guess it is hard to move that weight all the way over. He is about 20.5 lbs now. Big ole Bubba. Here is a video of it.

It is really cold here and we haven't been getting out much. I am starting to go stir crazy. Walker has been going nuts and running through the house. He has started trying to be a gladiator (thank you American Gladiators) and he puts on knee and elbow pads and busts through doors. He is getting to be really smart and sneaky. I can't believe how big he is getting.

We made another video tonight of Walker telling Mema he loves her. Mema is down in Belize until March and so we thought she might like this. I know she is reading this blog.

Here is a story from this weekend.

On Saturday, I was sitting in the chair feeding TruMonster and Walker was playing on the floor. He was very tired. I think he fell asleep and in a sudden pop, he landed face first onto the floor. Really, It was a very hard chin first. He got up in the chair with me and sobbed. After a few minutes he calmed down and asked for a Popsicle. I agreed it was a good idea and he went and got one out of the freezer and ate it in the kitchen. He came back in the room after he had finished and I asked him if he was done with it and he said yes. A few seconds later he went back over to where he had fallen. He started hitting his chin into the ground. Each time he would look up and ask for a popcicle. Boy, am I in trouble with this one.
